This paper describes a new metal plastic forming process named "shear-extrusion" The new process is studied by using numerical analysis and experiment methods, and applied to form large-size high pressure valve bodies used by power plant boiler. Finally, the valve bodies have been successfully formed on the 10000 kN screw press.
