The relations between the non-equilibrium segregation process of P and the change of the texture in Fe-P alloys have been studied by analytical electron microscope and orientation distribution function.It was shown that P segregated preferentialy on the{110}slip planes, the P segregation structures with repeating cycle a=1.582 nm form at 450℃.<001>// ND direction abated.<111>//ND direction heightened.And{111}<110>has a tendancy to transform into{111}<143>texture in recovering process.{111}<143>direction trans- forms into{111}<112>direction after recrystalizing.A model to describe the effects of non-equilibrium segregation structures of P on orientation change was proposed and em- ployed to interpret the experiment results.

The solid solubilities of 15 common alloying elements added to the Ll_2-type intermetallic compound Ni_3Si at 900°C have been estimated,and their substitution modes have been de- duced from the direction of solubility lobe of the compound.It is shown that the alloying behaviours in Ni_3Si are determined by both size and electronic factors,i.e.,the substitution mode is governed by electronic configuration and solubility by the both.An interaction parameter is presented to describe quantitatively the influence of electronic configuration on substitution mode and the solubility limit can be successfully explained together with atom radius.

The depth profile of composition,chemical state of elements and morphology of as- received and activated amorphous Fe_(80)Zr_(12)B_8 alloy ribbons have been studied by means of Auger electron spectroscopy,X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and scanning Auger microprobe combined with Ar ion bombardment.Both dull and free sides of the as- received ribbons were covered with an iron oxide layer.While a pronounced surface segregation and oxidation of B and precipitation of microcrystalline α-Fe particles were observed on both sides of activated ribbons,B and Zr were oxidized selectively in subsurface layer.On both sides of ribbons,a porous surface structure formed. The BET surface area was measured to be increasing from 0.11 to 2.68 m~2/g.The principal mechanism of in situ activation has been discussed.

Effects of 650℃ aging for 1—1000 h on structure and hydrogen embrittlement susceptibility (HES)of steel Cr21Ni6Mn9N have been investigated.The results show that M_(23)C_6 type carbide precipitates at grain boundaries and Cr-depletive region appears beside them during aging.The precipitates grow and connect each other as the aging time prolongs.Meanwhile, the degree of Cr-depletion aggravates first and then recovers gradually while the aging time is very long,i.e.,1000 h.The HES of the steel increases with increasing aging time but does not reduce with the recovery of Cr content at the Cr-depletive region.That implies that the ex- isting of carbides at grain boundaries might be the main reason which promotes the HES of steel during aging.

The microstructural evolution and precipitation hardening of an Elinvar alloy doped with Ti and Al during isothermal aging at 700℃ have been investigated by atom probe field ion microscopy and microhardness measurements.The γ′ precipiates are spherical and coherent with the matrix.The chemical composition of the precipitates are(Ni_(0.53)Fe_(0.47)_3 (Ti_(0.(?))Al_(0.4)). During aging,a Lifshitz-Wagner type dissolution and coarsening reaction of the precipitates has been observed,The hardness of the material varies with the aging time and reaches maxi- mum when the average diameter of the precipitates was about 11 nm.

The constitution of high-caustic ratio and highly concentrated sodium aluminate solutions has been investigated by Raman spectra method.By comparison with the Raman spectra of crystalline solids of Ca_3[Al(OH)_6]_2 and Ba_2[Al_2(OH)_(10)],it can be concluded that AI(OH)_6~(3-)ion and perhaps its polymers may be formed in these solutions.

Hot corrosion of intermetallic compound Ni_3Al-0.2B was studied by electrochemical techniques combined with physical analyses.It was found that hot corrosion resistance of Ni_3Al-0.2B is rather inferior.Sulfidation-oxidation is responsible for the accelerated corrosion.The addition of 6at.-% Cr and 0.5at.-% Zr to Ni_3Al-0.2B may accelerate its corrosion.

The effect of alloying element such as Mo,Si or B and its stoichoimetric composition on the tensile properties at room and elevated temperatures,and also on the microstructure of Fe_3Al and FeAl alloys has been investigated.Two Fe aluminides were found to be obviously strengthened by all of three elements,but seriously embrittled by Mo and Si.An improvemen over the plasicity of FeAl may be made by adding B,and the fracture surface is variedfrom intergranular to transgranular cleavage type.The room temperature plasticity of the Fe-rich Fe_3Al or Al-rich FeAl is much better than that of the stoichoimetric aluminides.An anoma- lous temperature dependence on the yield strength of Fe_3Al in range of 400 to 500℃ or of FeAl in range of 400 to 500℃ was found.Discussion has been carried out by the aspect of microstructure.

The in-phase and out-of-phase thermal fatigue,the C-P type and P-C type isothermal fa- tigue of grey cast iron were experimentally studied.The fatigue life was evaluated analytically by using the elastic-plastic fracture mechanics method(mainly J integral).The results of ex- periments and calculations showed that the lifes of in-phase and C-P type fatigue are longer than that of out-of-phase and P-C type fatigue respectively within the same strain range. This is in contrast to the results of other materials such as low carbon steel.On the other hand, the predicted lifes are consistent with experimental results.This suggests that J integral as a mechanics parameter for characterizing the thermal fatigue strength of grey cast iron and the mechanics model and the calculation method developed here are efficient.A parameter ΔW_1 was proposed from energy aspect to characterize the capacity of crack propagation. The isothermal fatigue life is the same as the thermal fatigue life for identical ΔW_1 values.
