CRYSTAL DEFECTS AND GRAIN INTERFACE STRUCTURE OF ION-NITRIDED LAYERS

Observation under high resolution electron microscope shows that the continuous bombing of high speed ions produces a great amount of vacant site defects.The assembly of vacancies forms vacant dish,and the collapase of vacant dish forms stacking fault tetrahedrons and oth- er crystal defects.The interfaces between phase ε(Fe_(2-3)N)and phase γ'(Fe_4N)are smooth, straight and coherent,and they have the orientation relationships of(11)//(0001)and [110]/[110] .

STRUCTURE AND MAGNETIC PROPERTIES OF Fe/Pd COMPOSITIONALLY MODULATED FILMS

Metal Fe/Pd compositionally modulated films(CMFs) were prepared by vapour depo- sition from two sources onto glass substrate under vacuum.The modulation and crystal structures of the films were examined by X-ray diffraction.The magnetic properties were determined by vibrating sample magnetometer.The Pd layers in the Fe/Pd CMFs are of fcc structure,and the Fe layer structure transits from bcc into amorphous,state with decreasing thickness of Fe layer.The dependence of specific saturation magnetization on thickness of Fe layers has also been discussed.

MAGNETIC PROPERTIES OF AMORPHOUS CoZr SOFT MAGNETIC FILMS

The amorphous CoZr soft magnetic films with superior properties were prepared by radio-frequency sputtering under pressure of 0.5Pa Ar.The saturation magnetization of the amorphous CoZr films with relation to the Zr content and temperature was investigated.The amorphous CoZr films composed of different constituents obey the Bloch T~(3/2)-low in a wide range of temperatures.The number of electrons transferred from each Zr atom to 3d energy band of Co calculated by the rigid band model is about 2.27.

Cryogenic strength,ductility and toughness of AI-Li alloy 8090 were found to be superior to those at ambient temperature,and up to optima at about 20 K.Different aging regimes may only influence on its cryogenic yield strength and elongation.

High quality (AlGa)InP epilayers lattice matched on GaAs substrates were grown by atmospheric pressure metallorganic vapor phase epitaxy (AP-MOVPE).The relationship between surface morphologies and lattice mismatches was studied.The influence of Al incorporation to the photoluminescence and electronic properties of AlGaInP was measured.The applicability of growth at atmospheric pressure and the passivation of Zn in AlGaInP were discussed.

GROWTH MODE AND MODIFICATION OF GRAPHITE IN CAST IRON MELT

Using liquid quenching technique,the change of growth mode of graphite in cast iron melt was analysed.Based on the interface structure theory of crystal growth,the concept of multiplication of spiral growth steps was advanced and two basic multiplication models were given.It was proposed that multiplication of spiral steps is responsible for the change of growth mode of graphite in cast iron melt.The modifying elements such as Ce promote multiplication of spiral steps,which is regarded as the core of modification.Origination of screw dislocation and branch of the sector blocks in radius direction,both of which are essential to spheroidization of graphite in the melt,are caused by multiplication of spiral steps:and so is thickening of graphite plates.

STRUCTURAL CHANGE IN HEAT AFFECTED ZONE AND ITS INFLUENCE ON PROPERTIES OF WELDED WHITE CAST IRON

The structural change in heat affected zone(HAZ)and its influence on properties of welded white cast iron have been investigated by means of thermal cycle simulation technique.The structure of the white cast iron at peak temperature 800℃ was examined as cementite in pearlitic matrix,of which the hardness and impact toughness are the lowest,while the struc- ture after cyclic heating at high peak temperature is mainly cementite together with twin martensite,of which the hardness and impact toughness are rather higher.The phase bounda- ries in the structure of low hardness are smooth and regular as well as with fine precipitates. Both the cleavage and interphase fracture were revealed in the structure of low hardness,while the transgranular fracture was found in those areas of higher hardness.

STRUCTURE AND FERROMAGNETIC RESONANCE OF Fe/Cu SUPERLATTICES

Metallic Fe/Cu superlattice films on glass substrates were prepared by a dc-magnetion sputtering system.The modulation behaviors and the crystal structures of the films were ex- amined by X-ray diffraction and transmission electron microscopy(TEM)respectively. Their magnetic properties were studied by means of ferromagnetic resonnance spectrometer and the vibrating sample magnetometer.The results show that there exists a strong magnetic coupling between the neighbouring Fe layers and it is the coupling that affectes the magnetic properties of these superlattice films.

Process of Re-Resourcing of Converter Slag

The process of “re-resourcing of converter slag” was put forward based on the analysis of the existing steel slag treatment process. The converter slag obtained from Jinan steel plant was studied. After grinding, the slag contained 33% of iron particles, 5484% of magnetic part (wTFe=20%), and 4184% of non-magnetic part, which could be used for making cement directly. At a temperature below 1000 ℃, the non-magnetic Fe2O3 in the slag could be efficiently reduced to magnetic iron by pure H2 and CO. The slag after precise reduction had high degree of dispersion and did not get sintered, which provided an optimum condition for the separation of iron and impurities. To separate the slag and enrich the iron after reduction, the laboratory-scale device of magnetic separation was designed and made. The process of slag re-resourcing, which included magnetic sorting, precise reduction, magnetic separation, and removal of free calcium oxide (f-CaO), was proposed to obtain iron-rich magnetic materials and cement adulterant materials. Through this process, 33 kg iron particles, 150 kg iron-rich material and 700 kg cement could be obtained in each ton slag. Besides, this process to recycle converter slag had a lower energy and material consumption and no pollutant emission.
