Influence of Profile of Blast Furnace on Motion and Stress of Burden by 3D-DEM

The objective of the present investigation is to analyze the influence of profile of blast furnace on the burden motion and stress field through 3D-DEM (three-dimensional discrete element method). It is clarified that the decrease of shaft angle speeds up the velocity of burden descending and decreases normal stress between particles or particle and wall. This change is good for the smooth operation of blast furnace. However, ore and coke would be mixed for the too small shaft angle (75°), which would influence the permeability in blast furnace. Thus, the appropriate shaft angle is around 80°. Decrease of bosh angle prevents the burden descending motion and increases normal stress between particles and bosh wall. Meanwhile, maximum normal stress acting on the wall moves from belly wall to bosh wall in the case of 68° bosh angle, which accelerates abrasion of refractory in bosh by friction force between particles and wall. Although burden descends smoothly in the case of 88° bosh angle, room is not enough for the ascending heated gas flow. Thus, the appropriate bosh angle is about 78°.

The crossover from parallel shift to fan-shape broadening of the superconducting transition of La(1.44)Nd(0.4)Sr(0.16)CuO(4) films in magnetic fields

In this paper we report the transport properties of c-axis-oriented superconducting La(1.44)Nd(0.4)Sr(0.16)CuO(4) films on LaSrAlO(4) substrates with different thicknesses in various magnetic fields parallel and perpendicular to the c axis of the films. It is found that with decreasing film thickness there is a crossover from the parallel shift to fan-shape broadening in the resistive transitions. Moreover, for both field configurations, the flux pinning potential U(0)(H) of the film shifts upward with an order of magnitude with increasing in-plane compressive strain. These results indicate that the compressive epitaxial strain and strain-induced destabilization of the static charge stripes are important aspects for the promotion of superconducting transition temperature as well as the flux pinning potential.

用扫描电镜观察了某型飞机机翼主梁的疲劳断口,用疲劳条带估算了裂纹扩展寿命,并用Zheng-Hirt公式估算出裂纹尖端应力强度因子范围,估算结果与实验测定值十分接近,从而为研究老龄飞机的使用寿命,进行了有益的探索.

应用纳米压痕法测量电沉积镍镀层残余应力的研究

应用纳米压痕法测量残余应力的2种理论模型对5种电沉积镍镀层中的残余应力在不同压痕深度处进行了测量,并与X射线衍射法的测量结果进行了比较.结果表明,压深位于薄膜/基底界面处的2种压痕法测量结果与X射线衍射法的测量结果相近,且Yun-Hee模型与其符合得更好.

BEHAVIOUR OF Ti IN AS-CAST MEDIUM MANGANESE AUSTENITIC STEEL

The majority of Ti is found to be preferentially precipitated in the form of TiC from medium manganese steel melt.The TiC may contribute to the heterogeneous nuclei of fine austenite crystallization,to the retardation of dislocation movement as well as to pile-up and proliferate the dislocations,thus,the matrix of the as-cast steel will be effectively strength- ened.It was also found that the TiC can be acted as the heterogeneous nuclei of the nodular eutectic carbide formation and caused the dispersion o fan abundance of the carbide in the interstices between austenite dendrite arms.

A single-phase spindle motor design for DVD application

A single phase brushless spindle motor with innovative design has been developed for application in a DVD drive. The methods used to reduce the cogging torque and to improve the dynamic performance of this new design motor are proposed in this paper. The single phase brushless spindle motor is usually applied for cooling fan, pump and blower before the performance is improved by the reengineering process. The stator configuration and the drive circuit have been remodeled in order to meet the requirements of the spindle motor used in the DVD applications.

In this study, the Solidworks was used as pre-processor, which performed the three- dimensional solid construction and automatic enmeshment. The COSMOS was adopted as post- processor to display the temperature distribution and further to simulate the thermal stress distribution of dies. A software package for three-dimensional temperature fields of complicated die casting and its dies was developed and the temperature distributions of a fan cover casting were simulated by the software.

Monte Carlo simulation of angular distribution and fractionation in the zero-fluence isotope sputtering

A static Monte Carlo simulation program has been used to study the influence of primary and secondary knock-on atoms on the angular distribution and the fractionation, for zero-fluence sputtering of Mo-92-Mo-100. At 10 keV Xe ion energy, calculations show that significant depth-dependent momentum asymmetry exists in the near-surface region, as in Refs. (L.P. Zheng, R.S. Li, M.Y.LI, Nucl. Instr, and Meth. B 100 (1995) 490; L.P. Zheng, M.Y. Li, Nucl. Instr. and Meth. B 114(1996) 28). The calculations also show that at the polar emission angle range between 0 degrees and 90 degrees the probabilities of the sputtered primary knock-on atoms for Mo-92 and Mo-100 are small (6.1% for Mo-92 and 6.6% for Mo-100), especially, between 0 degrees and 30 degrees they are very small (2.5% for Mo-92 and 2.8% for Mo-100). At 0.1 keV Ar ion energy, the calculations show that partial momentum flux ratios, for the primary and the secondary knock-on atoms, deviate far from one, through marker plane 1 (about an atomic layer distance from the surface).
