IN SITU TEM STUDY ON THE R-PHASE TRANSFORMATION IN TiNi ALLOY

The R-phase transformation process in selected TiNi alloys has been studied in great detail by using in situ TEM technique. The R-phase transformation was found to be a reversible thermoelastic displacive transformation with a nucleation and growth process. The R-phase nucleates at the precipitate/matrix interface in aged specimens and grows by moving the coherent R/matrix interfaces. The stress field of Ti3Ni4 precipitates plays a much more important role in the formation of the R-phase than dislocations in aged TiNi alloy. The microstructure of the R-phase has also been studied.

CURRENT STATUS OF HIGH-RESOLUTION ELECTRON-MICROSCOPY AND ITS APPLICATIONS TO MATERIALS SCIENCE AND CONDENSED MATTER PHYSICS

The present paper summarizes the current status of high resolution elect;on microscopy ( HREM) and the applications of HREM to materials science and condensed matter physics. This review recounts the latest development of high resolution electron microscope, progress of HREM and the applications of HREM, including the crystal structure determination of microcrystalline materials and characterization of the local structure of the defects and nanostructured materials as well as qualitative and quantitative analysis of the grain boundaries, interfaces and interfacial reactions in the advanced materials by means of HREM in combination with electron diffraction, subnanometer level analysis, image simulation and image processing.

The effects of stress components on nucleation sites and propagation directions of stress cor- rosion cracks in brass were investigated with specimens under mode Ⅱ and mode Ⅲ loadings. The results indicated that under mode Ⅱ loading,stress corrosion cracks nucleated on the site with maximum normal stress component and propagated along the plane perpendieular to the maximum normal stress,under mode Ⅲ loading,the stress corrosion crack was not evident on the 45°plane due to the general corrosion in aqueous solution with high NH_4OH concentra- tion,while stress corroded in aqueous solution with low NH_4OH concentration, numerous cracks with spacings of 10—150μm were found on the 45°plane with maximum normal stress and no stress corrosion cracks was observed on the plane with maximum shear stress.

Mechanical alloying of Fe-Nb-C materials

Mechanical alloying (MA) of elemental powder mixtures of Fe50Nb35C15, Fe60Nb30C10 and Fe50Nb40C10 was performed using a high energy ball mill. In the MA processing, ball milling first leads to a Fe-Nb-C amorphous phase and nanocrystalline NbC. Further milling results in the formation of a nanocrystalline solid solution of Fe(Nb, C) and nanocrystalline NbC in Fe50Nb35C15 and Fe60Nb30C10, while the final product for Fe50Nb40C10 is a mixture of amorphous Fe-Nb-C and nanocrystalline NbC.

158 AGeV/c Pb-Pb碰撞中的J/Ψ反常抑制现象研究

在核吸收与随动者吸收理论的基础上,给出了在有QGP相变情况下高能重离子碰撞中的J/Ψ微分产生截面,并用其讨论了CERN的NA50合作组给出的入射动量为158 AGeV/c的Pb-Pb碰撞中的J/Ψ反常抑制现象。理论较好地解释了实验结果。

Breit势的正规化与η_c-J/ψ的劈裂

研究自旋和轨道量子数不同的介子之间的质量劈裂对检验夸克势模型非常重要.在以往的夸克势模型计算中,η_c-J/ψ的质量劈裂都很难达到实验的值.用正规化形状因μ~2/(q~2+μ~2),在对完整的动量空间中的Breit夸克势实施一次正规化下研究了η_c-J/ψ和新介子ηb与Υ(1s)之间的质量劈裂.结果表明,正规化形状因子中的屏蔽质量μ应与介子折合质量有关,当将其展开为介子折合质量的三阶多项式时,上述介子质量劈裂可以精确重现实验的结果.另外,由于完整的Breit 势包含有自旋一轨道耦合相互作用的项,因而还可以研究χ_(c0),χ_(c1)和χ_(c2)之间的质量劈裂.

Effect of different types of carbon on microstructure and arcing behavior of Ag/C contact materials

Silver-carbon (Ag/C) contact materials with different types of carbon, including diamond, graphite, carbon black, and carbon nanotubes were,fabricated by high-energy ball milling and hot-pressing. Their microstructures, arcing properties, and stability of the carbon structures were investigated. The results show that Ag/C nanotubes material displays a scallop-like morphology, which is significantly different from the microstructure of other Ag/C materials with dispersed particles. During the process of discharge, the diamond and carbon black in Ag/C materials are partially graphitized, while the morphology and crystal structure of graphite component have little change, indicating the graphite structure of Ag/C materials is the most stable of all.
