PHSICAL MODELLING AND PROCESSING OF Ti-6Al-4V ELI

Titanium has been widely used as the implant materials of joint prostheses. This paper simulates the microstructures of the hot forged titanium knee joint component by physical modeling. Ti-6Al-4V ELI were deformed by GLEEBLE 2000 hot deforma- tion simulator in compression mode to determine the hot workability, in the range of 900 to 1100℃, with the strain rates between 0.05 to 5 s~(-1). Test results derived from specimens processed by on-cooling test and on-heating test were compared, thereby estimating the effect due to thermal history. The forging process of Ti-6Al-4V ELI tibial base plate of knee joint prostheses was design based on the workability data obtained.

Shape-Memory Intermetallics Development in Taiwan

In Taiwan, many groups engage in the development of TiNi SMAs. The two-stage martensitic transformations of and have been clarified for both TiNi binary and ternary alloys. The deformation behaviors have been investigated by cold-rolling, hot-rolling and wire drawing. Both shape memory effect and pseudoelasticity can be improved by some thermal-mechanical treatments. The damping characteristics of TiNi and TiNiX SMAs have also been systematically studied. Both B19'/B19 martensite (M)and R-phase(R) have high daming capacities due to the stress-induced movement of twin boundaries. Meanwhile, the addition of third elements-Fe and Cu-can largely increase the damping capacity.Recently, some high temperature shape memory alloys-TiHiPd and TiNi-.Au alloys-have also been intensively studied in Taiwan. All these potential investigations on the TiNi SMAs in Taiwan have attracted much attention and their important characteristics will be applied widely in the near future.

氢对310不锈钢钝化膜的影响*

采用电化学和STM方法研究了氢对310不锈钢阳极化过程、钝化膜形成过程和表面形貌特征以及膜耐点蚀性能的影响,并进行了相应的理论分析。研究表明:氢会降低不锈钢的自腐蚀电位,缩短钝化区域并使其向低电位方向偏移;降低反应电阻,增大钝化电流密度;降低膜在纳米尺度上的结晶度和耐点蚀性能。

高温时效后的310不锈钢高温硫腐蚀研究

研究了310不锈钢在气氛总压为10-5 Pa,于2.3%SO2-S2-8.8%N2气氛中600 ℃下的高温硫腐蚀行为。利用金相、能谱及X射线衍射等分析手段对其腐蚀形貌、成分及结构进行了分析。结果表明:310不锈钢于700 ℃,10 000 h时效在其晶界大量析出σ相,造成晶界附近贫Cr,从而降低了晶界抗硫腐蚀性能,使高温时效处理后的310不锈钢抗硫腐蚀能力明显降低;未时效处理的310不锈钢以均匀腐蚀为主,时效处理后的则以晶界腐蚀为主,并伴随有均匀腐蚀。

Dissolution-facilitating Dislocation Emission, Motion and Initiation of SCC in 310 Stainless Steel

Using a special constant deflection device, the in situ TEM observations of dislocation emission,motion and the initiation of nanocrack in 310 stainless steel in water were carried out. The results show that SCC in thin foil specimen of 310 stainless steel can occur in water. A nanocrack initiated in the DFZ or at the blunt crack tip in corrosion solution after dislocation emission,multiplication and motion, which were induced by the localized anodic dissolution, reached a critical condition. The nanocrack propagated by a cleavage mode because of the influence of the corrosion solution.
