SUPERPLASTICITY OF A Ni-28.5Al-20.4Fe INTERMETALLIC ALLOY

Our previous investigation examines the soperplastic behavior of an extruded Ni-28.5Al-20.IFe alloy. Its tensile properties were determined at temperature from 1123Kto 1323K and initial strain rates from 1.0{x 10-2s-1 to 1.04x 10-4s-1. A maximumelongation of 233K was obtained at 1123K and a strain rate Oj 5.2x 10-4s-1. Fur-thermore, microstructural features, such a8 decrease in the avempe gmin Bize afier de-formation at 85dC and 98dC the presence oj many dislocationthee gmins adjacentto grains with a high dislocation density, indicate that dynamic recrystallization hasoccuwed as an decient accotnmodation mechanism. SEM examination Of the fracturesample afier saperplastic defOrmation revealS many voids on the hecture sudece. Bycoerelating with the results Oj TEM observation, it is sopested that the soperplasticdejormation in this alloy should be controlled by a gmin boundarp sliding-based mech-anism accommodated by the movement oj dislocation and dynamic recrpstallization.

The morphology of the dark and bright regions observed by transmission electron microscopy for the Zr(64.13)Cu(15.75)Ni(10.12)Al(10) bulk metallic glass strongly depends on the ion beam parameters used for ion milling. This indicates that the ion beam could introduce surface fluctuation to metallic glasses during ion milling.

Studies of the changes of Mn-Y (Y = S, Se, Te) bond lengths R with the Mn composition x in Zn1-xMnxY alloys from optical spectrum data

The changes of Mn-Y (Y = S, Se, Te) bond lengths R with the Mn composition x in the diluted magnetic semiconductors Zn1-xMnxY are calculated from the optical spectra and their pressure shifts. The calculated results suggest that the Mn-Y bond lengths change little with the Mn composition x-much less than expected from lattice parameters as determined by X-ray diffraction. These results are also in good agreement with the observed values obtained from the EXAFS measurements. It appears that for ternary A(1-x)M(x)Y (M denotes the divalent transition-metal ion) alloys the changes of M-Y bond lengths R with the M composition x can be studied from their optical spectrum data. EFFECT OF SPECIMEN SIZE ON J_R RESISTANCE CURVE

The effect of specimen thinkness on JR resistance curve has been investigated using low and middle strength steels. As the J dominance regime is reached, the initial J-integral values, J(i), are definite even if the elastic component Ji(e) and plastic component Ji(p)vary with the thinkness of specimen. The wider the specimen width, the larger the Ji(e)/Ji and the smaller the Ji(p)/Ji. The crack propagation resistance, dJR/da and dJp/da, decreases, while dJe/da increases linearly with increasing specimen thinness.Based on the above experimental results, an empirical formula dJ/da = α+β. B is given, which can be used to evaluate the safety of practical structural components.A modified J-integral is presented, upon which a new view is Put forward that the increase in crack growth resistance is induced mainly by the increase in the plastic J-integral component with the crack propagation,

The SiC_w/Al composite prepared by squeeze casting has a combination of superior room temperature specific strength and modulus together with excellent thermal properties.The extrusion can make an improvement on the strength and ductility of the composite from 582 MPa as squeeze casted up to 639 MPa,and on the transformation from isotropic to the anisotropic structure.This seems to be explained by the orientation of whiskers and the densification of dislocations in matrix.TEM observation indicates that the stacking fault is the usual planar defect on the SiC_w surface. composite;;SiC whisker;;Al alloy;;microstructure

S355J2W耐候钢的耐腐蚀性能

通过周期浸润腐蚀试验,对比研究了S355.12W耐候钢和Q345R低合金钢在NariSOs溶液中的耐腐蚀性能,并用扫描电镜对腐蚀产物进行了观察和分析。结果表明:在相同试验条件下,S355J2W耐候钢的腐蚀速率低于Q345R钢的;S355J2W耐候钢会在表面形成黑褐色锈层,而Q345R钢表面形成橘红色易剥落的疏松锈层;S355J2W耐候钢腐蚀产物微观形貌为沿放射性方向生长的针状晶体,Q345R钢为颗粒状聚合物堆积而成,形状无规则,颗粒之间有较大的空隙。

First-principle study of electronic properties of Ti3Si1-xAlxC2 solid solutions

In the present work, the solid solutions of Ti3Si1-xAlxC2 (x = 0, 0.25, 0.33, 0.5, 0.67, 0.75, 1) are investigated by first-principle calculations based on pseudo-potential plan-wave method within the density functional theory framework. The results show that as Al content increases in the solid solution, all the bonds have weakened to certain extents, which lead to an unstable structure both energetically and geometrically. The calculated results are compared and discussed with the reported data for the Ti3Si1-xAlxC2 solid solutions. (c) 2007 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.

关于动态钝化线方程与J-R法确定JId的讨论

在摆锤式示波冲击试验机上采用小角度冲击方法测试了某船用低合金钢的动态弹塑性断裂韧度JId.针对多试样J-R阻力曲线法因钝化线的不易确定性常造成测试结果JId误差较大的情况,考虑了加载速率对塑性流变应力的影响,给出了一新的动载条件下的钝化线方程:J=2NK(0.5εF)n△a.在J-R阻力曲线法测定材料的JId时,用该方程可得到与小角度冲击方法相一致的测试结果.

Metalliclike mictomagnetic state in La0.55R0.15Ca0.3MnO3 (R = Y and Ho)

The magnetic and electronic transport properties of the title compounds are systematically studied. Both compounds are found to have similar properties. The magnetic measurements are consistent with the mictomagnetic behavior. An insulator-to-metal transition is observed with decreasing temperature and the low temperature resistivity shows the metalliclike feature. It is proposed that apart from the already identified ferromagnetic metal and spin glass insulator. phases, the metalliclike mictomagnetic phase should exist at the boundary area between the two known phases in the universal phase diagram for the manganates.
