RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN TENSILE DEFORMATION BEHAVIOUR AND MICROSTRUCTURAL PARAMETERS OF A DUAL PHASE STEEL

Bused on the deformation model of dual phase steels, an expression for the stress of martensite in dual phase steels is derived, it predictes that the onset of plastic deformation of martensite (transition strain) depends on the strain hardening of ferrite and on the strength of martensile. The relationship between the flow stress and microstructural parameters of a 0.12C-0.9Mn dual phase steel was investigated using the expression for the flow stress of dual phase steel[1] . By calculating the stress ratio and the stress-strain partition coefficient, the loud transition and the stress-strain partition between two phases are studied. It shows that the deformation of dual phase steel lies between the isostress and isostrain states and the stress-strain pratition changes continuously during the deloramtion.

The influences of the additions of Ti or / and Si on the wettability of Ni-base alloys on alumina were investigated with the sessile drop method. The interfacial chemical reaction products were analyzed by scanning etectron rnicroscope and microprobe. Their effects on the wettability and the affecting factors for them to be produced were discussed. A new Ni-base braze alloy (NiFeCr10Si15Ti) was designed for brazing alumina with the superior qualities such as low contact angle (less than 25 degrees), high work temperature (near 1073 K) and good resistance to oxidations, etc.

A Theoretical Study of the Pressure for Liquid Metal Infiltration of a Fiber Preform

A theoretical model has been established for calculating the infiltration pressure of metal melt into the preform of ceramic fibers according to the basic principle of hydromechanics. There are three forces acting on the infiltration process in the model, i.e. viscous friction, capillary force, and gravity The effects of the volume fraction of fibers (Vf) and infiltrating depth on the infiltration pressure are discussed. The results show that the infiltration pressure increases with the increase of fiber volume fraction and infiltration depth. There is a linear relationship between infiltration pressure and infiltiation depth. The effect of gravity on the infiltration pressure can be ignored

The heat capacities (C_p) ofglassy and crystalline Fe_(40)Ni_(40)B_(20) alloy have been measured by means ofdifferential scanning calorimeter(DSC). A larger C_p value at the glass transition temperature (T_g) can be obtained. The reproducible C_p values ofrelaxed glass at certain heating rate are lower than that ofas quenched glass below 500 K, and are much higher at T_g than that of the crystal. The heating rate affects C_p values of the glass. At last, C_p val ues ofthe undercooled liquid are estimated.

EXTRACTION KINETICS OF RARE EARTH (Ⅰ) A Constant Interfacial Cell with Laminar Flow

A technique was developed to study mass trans fer process and inter facial reaction in two phases system. This constant inter facial cell with a laminar flow was made into a cubic structure. The two fluids were continuously recycled and mixed. The concentration of each liquid could be monitored by two different methods. This kind of structure made both flows near the inter face flow parallel to the inter face. The inter face was smooth and steady. The mass trans fer rate could be judged by the linear velocity of the flows. The technique can be used for the analyses of the control step in both phases near the inter face in a diffusion control process. A preliminary hydrodynamics and mass trans fer study on the cell was presented, which ensures the distinguishing between a diffusion and a chemical reaction control process. A simplified mass transfer equation,N =0.5303D 1 /2* (Ci- Cb)* (V / B) 1/2, was achieved.
