钢包在现代化炼钢中发挥着重要的作用，钢包的安全使用关系着炼钢厂的安全、稳定生产，为确保钢包的安全使用，宝钢股份宝钢分公司炼钢厂一炼钢单元自2006年搭建了一套固定式钢包激光测厚系统，于2006年下半年投入使用。文章就钢包激光测厚仪的一些情况做了介绍，并结合其在现场一年来的使用经验，对其将来的拓展应用提出了设想。
In the iron and steel industry, ladle is playing an indispensable roll among the steel making process. The security of the ladle application is important to stability and safety for steel making plants’ production. In order to guarantee the ladle application safety, the first steel making plant of Baosteel Ltd set up a fixed laser thickness gauge in 2006, which is put into use since June 2006. This article introduces some information of this instrument. Combined with one year’s experience, further application of the system is brought forward.
