铝脱氧效率高而且成本较低,因此钢用铝脱氧是目前使用最广泛的脱氧方法.但是,铝脱氧的反应产物及残留在钢中的铝常引起耐热钢的蠕变脆性,降低钢的高温强度.另外,氧化铝还是疲劳裂纹的形核核心,致使轴承钢、钢轨钢和车轮钢的疲劳抗力降低.鉴于铝脱氧对钢性能的损害,必须重新认识钢用铝脱氧的问题.近年来,应用复合脱氧剂对钢脱氧的研究表明复合脱氧剂可使钢性能得到改善.
