2,5-dimereapto-1,3,4-thiadiazole(DMcT) is synthesized by hydrazine hydrate and carbon disulfide. The structure of DMcT is determined by elemental analysis, Raman spectra and infrared spectra. Cyclic vohammetry curves of DMcT show that the redox reaction of DMcT is rather slow at room temperature, and the influence of acidic and basic condition on the redox behavior of DMcT is great. The addition of triethylamine facilitates the oxidation of DMcT and makes the peak current increase, but does not influence the reduction peak potential of DMcT. On the contrary, the addition of CF_3COOH makes the oxidation of DMcT harder than the neutral condition, but facilitates the reduction of DMcT.
