Alumina ceramic and graphite are widely applied in machinery, electronics, aviation petrochemicals, atomic energy and other fields as new materials, scientist have been paying attention to the process of production and structure of them. There are many similar properties between them, but the research of foundational performance of the two is not enough. In this paper some petrochemicals of the two materials are discussed, such as wear resistances properties.fatigue performance,anti-oxidative ability,thermo-mechanical processing and electrical conductivity. It's pointed out that alumina ceramie can take the place of graphite in some fields.Alumina ceramic meets the needs of industrial process better because of its high strength, excellent wear resistence and so on,that is significat for energy saving and environmental protecting.
