This paper probes into the method for determining the assigned value and its uncertainty in a proficiency testing scheme of impact test by analyzing the results from Charpy impact test. In the method, the assigned value and its uncertainty is determined by multiple iterations of initial robust average and robust standard deviation. The method has been validated with the results of practical proficiency testing scheme. It is hoped that the proposed method is helpful for proficiency testing providers to evaluate the assigned value and its uncertainty of proficiency testing scheme.
