以乙烯基三乙氧基硅烷作前驱体在碳纤维表面制备了溶胶-凝胶涂层.通过扫描电镜、能量分散谱仪以及热重分析对涂层进行表征.通过单纤维拉伸强度测试研究碳纤维的力学性能,采用动态接触角测定碳纤维的表面能.结果表明,溶胶-凝胶涂层改善了碳纤维的抗氧化性能和力学性能.与未涂层纤维相比,涂层碳纤维的起始氧化温度提高了100℃,单纤维拉伸强度提高了5.9%~12.1%,但是涂层脱落及表面裂纹导致碳纤维的拉伸强度随着氧化温度的升高而降低.另外,溶胶-凝胶涂层降低了碳纤维的表面能,使其具有较好的疏水性能.
