The microstructure analysis, mechanical property test and fracture scanning tests were used to study the effect of coating formula on microstructure and properties of welded joint. The results show that the welded microstructure by alkaline electrode is mainly composed of overaging martensite, precipitation phase precipitates dispersively on substrate and a small amount of precipitation phase begins to aggregate and spheroidize. The alkaline welded joint has good toughness and high strength. The welded microstructure by acid electrode is regional structure in black and white, and part of the structure keeps the shape of martensite. More precipitated phase is visible on the matrix and the precipitated phase aggregates and spheroidizes apparently. Compared with the alkaline welded joint, the comprehensive mechanical performance of acid welded joint is relatively poor. The addition of alloy element in coating component can improve the toughness and ductility of welded joint, but the strength of joint will be reduced.
