Abstract：Take ABB electromagnetic stirring system core unit DSU in steel plant on the billet continuous casting machine in 8 years and the fault operation as the background, DSU fault reasons were analyzed in detail and summed up, and thoughts to inspect, operate, maintain the DSU equipment were put forward. It is emphasized that the interval length of equipment failure free operation not only depends on its quality, more on the regular use and maintenance of the equipment.
