The stress corrosion behavior of the 7050 Al alloy was investigated by means of mechanical tests and transmission electron microscopy. It was found that the hydrogen content of the alloy greatly influences its stress corrosion property. This is attributed to the weakened zones produced by the segregation of hydrogen in the multi-adjacent grain boundaries.
