为了有效、稳定地控制连铸坯角横裂纹缺陷,某厂对倒角结晶器进行了开发和应用工作,并取得了良好效果.利用商业有限元软件ANSYS,以断面250 mm×2 000 mm的连铸坯为计算对象,对不同尺寸的倒角结晶器温度场以及直角结晶器和35 mm×35 mm倒角结晶器的温度场/应力场进行了比较计算.计算结果表明:当倒角尺寸为35 mm×35 mm时,倒角部位的最低温度达到918℃,角部最低温度从高温拉伸曲线的高温侧逐渐脱离了脆性区;与直角铸坯相比,倒角铸坯完全消除了角部的应力集中现象.即采用倒角结晶器后,铸坯z向应力最大值降低19.2%,角横裂纹出现的可能性极大降低.
