某炼钢厂一台与250 t转炉相配套的减速机在试运行中，减速机齿轮轴发生断轴事故。化学成分、力学性能、金相组织和断口形貌等检验分析结果表明：减速机齿轮轴金相组织存在缺陷，不符合设计要求是导致整个轴强、塑、韧性降低，最终断裂失效的根本原因。
Gear shaft of converter reductor are fractured during test running. The fracture failure was analyzed by means of metallograph, SEM, EDS and hardness test. The results showed that brittle fracture was caused by defect of microstructure which reduced the strength, plasticity and toughness.
