The orientation relationship (OR) between alpha (2)-Ti3Al precipitates in the B2 phase in a Ti-47 at.% Al-2 at.% W-0.5 at.% Si alloy was determined by transmission electron microscopy. The OR is [2(11) over bar0](alpha2)//[(1) over bar 11](B2) and (0(2) over bar 21)(alpha2)//(110)(B2), in which the close-packed planes of the alpha (2) and B-2 phases are not exactly parallel to each other. This OR is precisely predicted from the invariant line theory and the reciprocal lattice overlap theory.
