The high-field magnetic properties at 4.2 K of (Pr, Y)2Fe14B compounds have been studied. The saturation magnetization and the moment per formula unit in this series are determined from the magnetization curves. The anisotropy coefficients k(n)m of these compounds are derived by a fitting procedure of the magnetization curves. A new model based on the single-ion theory is established for interpreting the experimental results.
