Ti-substrate PbO2 and F-doped PbO2 (F-PbO2) anodes were prepared by thermal decomposition eleetrodeposition technique. The anodes were characterized by XRD and SEM. The electrochemical stability was studied by the accelerated life tests in H2SO4 solution. The results show that the service life of the F-PbO2 anodes is much more longer than that of the undoped anodes. Moreover, the F-PbO2 anodes show a higher degradation rate for 4-chlorphenol (4-CP) than that observed for the PbO2 anodes. The influence of F- doping on the performance and electrocatalytic activity of PbO2 anodes has been discussed. In addition, the degradation mechanism of 4-CP is proposed according to the results of high-performance liquid chromatograph (HPLC).
